Overview

Our client serves as a Saudi airline ground handler and authorised representative in Nigeria. They advertise and sell tickets for charter aircraft to transport Umrah pilgrims from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia, in addition to performing ground handling operations. They intended to introduce a web-based system for booking flights for this purpose.

The client requested both an admin portal for their staff to manage airline schedules, ticket reservations, and payments, as well as a customer-facing site where customers could make reservations.

Due to our proficiency in the conception, execution, and deployment of web applications, FirstPlanet Travels chose Starfolk after carefully weighing their options to provide application development services for the project.

Solution

Our team was solely responsible for the design and delivery of the ERP system. To get around connectivity problems and guarantee maximum availability, we created a desktop application designed to operate offline as well as online. To achieve this, the application maintained two databases—a local and a remote one—that were in constant communication with each other.

A user can boot up the application without an internet connection and make changes to records. Once, internet connection is restored, these changes will be synced up to the remote database automatically.

Multi-store

In order to accommodate their numerous branches, the system must have the ability to manage various stores. We thus made the application multi-tenant. Their personnel can be connected to various stores. The system's capabilities are available to all stores.
